Airco Training: F-gases mobile air conditioning including certificate

The best preparation for the f-gases mobile air conditioning exam

Do you need the f-gases certificate? This training is the perfect preparation. You will learn both the theory and practice of recovering refrigerants from vehicles, mobile machinery, or after damage repair. Following this short and practical training, you will immediately take the f-gases mobile air conditioning exam. With a positive result, you will have the f-gases certificate in your possession.

Training information

WHY THE F-GASES MOBILE AIR CONDITIONING TRAINING?

If you work with refrigerants in vehicles, for damage repair, or in mobile machinery, there are legal obligations involved. You must then be certified. Moreover, to receive refrigerants, someone with a valid certificate must be present in the workshop. The f-gases certificate proves that you have the necessary knowledge and skills to work safely and responsibly with f-gases.

Having an f-gases certificate is not only a legal requirement, but it is also a way to ensure that the impact on the environment is reduced.

HOW IS THE TRAINING STRUCTURED?

  • As preparation for the training day, you will complete an e-learning, which takes about 1.5 hours.
  • For the practical training, you will spend 1 day at Innovam. We provide a delicious lunch.
  • After the training, you will take the exam immediately.

In the e-learning, you will learn the theory so that you can quickly and effectively get to work during the practical day. You will practice as much as possible in practice, under the guidance of our experienced trainer. During the practical day, you can of course ask questions, and you will learn from the other participants and the trainer.

WHAT WILL I LEARN DURING THE TRAINING?

During the training at Innovam, after an introduction, you can work on assignments on practical setups that are also used during the exam. You will learn to perform actions correctly and to carry out checks.

In the theory lesson, you will learn:

  • The operation of mobile air conditioners.
  • The environmental effects of synthetic refrigerants used as cooling agents and the relevant environmental regulations.
  • The environmentally friendly recovery of fluorinated greenhouse gases.

During the practical exercises, you will learn:

  • To empty the air conditioning system, using the same air conditioning machine as used during the exam.
  • To check the purity of the f-gas in the storage cylinder.
  • To check the amount of f-gas in the storage cylinder.

WHAT ABOUT THE EXAM AND CERTIFICATION?

Innovam reserves the 'f-gases mobile air conditioning' exam for you. The exam consists of a theoretical part and a practical part and is taken at the end of the training day by IBKI. They will email you a confirmation with additional information. You will receive the result of your practical exam immediately after completion from IBKI. The result of the theoretical exam will be received within two weeks.

The certificate is valid for air conditioning systems intended for cooling the interior (climate control systems). This applies to all types of vehicles: passenger cars, commercial vehicles, buses, agricultural vehicles, etc. The certificate does not have an expiration date. However, when it comes to cooling cargo (transport refrigeration), this certificate is not sufficient.

DO I NEED PRIOR KNOWLEDGE?

Yes, you need prior knowledge for this training. Without system knowledge, this training is too intensive and too short to successfully participate in the exam. If you have insufficient system knowledge, first follow the Service Air Conditioning Systems training or, for damage repairers, Air Conditioning Service (Carr 2).

Check your system knowledge. Do you know the answers to the following questions?

  • What is the state of aggregation of the refrigerant before and after the compressor?
  • In what kind of system is an accumulator used?
  • What is the inlet temperature of an evaporator?
  • What is the pressure of the refrigerant in the condenser?
